It is your responsibility to ensure your District Network Operator connection has been completed prior to the agreed installation date.
You must have either:-
- An agreement with the DNO that no upgrade costs are required, or have
- Completed DNO upgrade works by the agreed installation date in accordance with the DNO and Hallmark Power Ltd.’s standards.
Energy export Meter
Because of the size of your installation, you must make an agreement with an energy company to purchase your exported energy at a fixed cost. This may be your existing supplier or you may elect to choose someone else who may be able to offer a higher price. They will make you an offer to purchase your energy on a per kW/h scale. You will then enter into a contract with them.
To export your energy, the amount has to be measured. The company that you forge an alliance with regarding your electricity will make recommendations as to who can install a meter for this purpose. You will also need to enter into an agreement with them, and there will be an installation and maintenance cost associated with this. Incidentally, this meter will need to be fitted on the final day of the DNO grid upgrade work to complete the job, so there is some coordination required there. You will have a new MPAN number created by the DNO for this purpose and they will be able to give you this information which is necessary to fill out the forms to generate the contracts for the energy export and for the meter.
In general, it takes approximately two months to organise the contracts with the energy companies and arrange for the meter to be fitted, so please allow a minimum of this amount of time to carry this out, and co-ordinate with the DNO.
It is not possible for Hallmark Power Ltd to install and commission your installation without the DNO work completed and the export meter in place.
If your work is not completed before your installation date which will be part of the agreed schedule with the installation team, we reserve the right to adjust the cost for the remainder of the work in line with current market prices for additional costs that we incur.
Hallmark Power Ltd can offer full administrative assistance for completion of the paperwork for you to read through, authorise and sign for £1,500 plus VAT. It is not possible however, for Hallmark Power Ltd to make these agreements for you because they are contractual agreements between you and another company.
